As many of you know, I have a steady monthly gig at B. D. Riley's (6th Street location) on the 1st Wed of the month after their trivia. I play from 9:30pm-11:30pm and always have a great time.
They have THE BEST GUINESS ON TAP in all of Austin! Also, their Irish Car Bombs are killer as is their traditional Irish food, like the potato soup.
This week I tried out a new pedal that has a harmonizer and cool acoustic guitar preamp. So, I can do harmonies with the press of a button at my feet. But what's funny is that this pedal has 3 foot switches, and one of them is for looping guitar parts. Silly me, and just getting used to this thing, I hit the loop pedal a few times during my performance and it was tragic! Lol.
Another bone headed thing I did - I was playing a harmonica and put it on upside down! So when I went to play it sounded seriously wrong. These are just some of the things you have to deal with as a musician. Call them technical difficulties. Boy, I wish I had a sound man sometimes. It sure would make my life a lot easier.
At this gig I debuted my cover of Bon Jovi's "Wanted Dead Or Alive" and I killed it. I'm usually modest, but I felt really good about this cover. It's something I had to work up to and when I finally nailed it I was really proud of myself. I've included a link here incase you want to check it out.
Thanks for tuning in! As always, God bless and hope to see you at a show!
